He holds a PhD from the University of Piraeus (Department of Industrial Management and Technology), with doctoral research focused on theoretical and applied approaches to the environmental analysis of supply chains. He also holds an integrated Master’s degree (Dipl.-Ing.) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Patras, Polytechnic School, Department of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics. He has a strong background in supply chain management and logistics. He has more than 15 years of teaching experience. Since 2009 he is affiliated with the Hellenic Open University and since 2014, he is affiliated with the Open University of Cyprus.
Roles in DIGILOG: Giannis Tsoulfas will be the Project Manager and Academic Coordinator of DIGILOG project. His responsibilities include a) development of all module content and relevant teaching activities b) participating and guiding all of the task/activities outlined in the
project’s work plan and c) ensuring the timely and effective overall progress of the project (including the Round Tables).

Dr. Vasilis Zeimpekis is Associate Professor at the Department of Financial and Management Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of the Aegean and Director of the Design, Operations and Production Systems (DeoPSys) research lab. He is a member of the National Committee for Development and Competitiveness in Logistics and a consultant on transport issues to the United Nations (UNECE) and the World Bank. He also participated in the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Logistics Company (EEL) for 14 consecutive years including 4 years as Chairman of the Board. He has been a visiting professor at the Hellenic Open University's Faculty of Business Administration (DEO11) since 2013 and has taught in the past in various Universities at undergraduate and postgraduate level. In 2024 Dr. Zeimpekis was selected as one of the most important figures in the world who are shaping the future of road transport. This categorization was made by the Brussels-based International Road Transport Union (IRU). Dr. Zeimpekis is active in research on issues related to supply chain management with a focus on logistics and information systems.
Roles in DIGILOG: Dr. Zeimpekis participates in the development of the module’s content, in teaching activities as well as the Round Tables. He is also involved in the proposal and encouragement of potential interactions of the project with other projects, initiatives and activities, thus multiplying the project’s dissemination efforts and external communication.

Dr. Dasaklis has a strong background in AI-driven, blockchain-based business applications and Industry 4.0-related technologies. He has over ten years of teaching experience, including six years in distance learning. Additionally, he is the Scientific Coordinator of the Hellenic EuropeBlock project (Grant Agreement nº 101085733), a Jean Monnet Action initiative focused on blockchain policy and governance in the EU. His expertise in emerging technologies and regulatory compliance ensures that DIGILOG aligns with the latest advancements in Industry 4.0 technologies and digital transformation strategies within the EU. Mr. Dasaklis has been included in Stanford University’s list of the world’s top 2% of researchers for two consecutive years, a distinction that underscores his significant contributions to Industry 4.0-related technologies.

Dr. Malamas holds a BSc in Mathematics, from University of Patras, and BSc in Computer Science from Hellenic Open University, a MSc in Computer Science from University of Piraeus and a PhD in Distributed Security and Trust management technologies on IoT in the Department of Informatics, University of Piraeus, Greece.
Roles in DIGILOG: Malamas will be a senior expert in the project. He will participate in the development of the module’s content, in teaching activities as well as the Round Tables. He will also propose and encourage the potential interactions of the project with other projects, of initiatives and activities, thus multiplying the project’s dissemination efforts and external communication activities. He has a strong background in AI-related applications and public administration.

He holds an integrated diploma in Mechanical Engineering (MSc equivalent) from University of Patras and an MSc in Industrial Management and Technology from University of Piraeus. He is currently a PhD student at the Hellenic Open University. His main research interests include: Operations Research, Supply Chain management, Industry 4.0 technologies, Applied & Computational Intelligence algorithms.
